25 Years of Barter: Celebrating Key Milestones
In 1996, Ric Zampatti had a vision of how to help small business owners prosper. He knew that bartering for the goods and services they needed could help them save cash, gain new customers, and grow. He put his vision into action and founded The Barter Company – without any technology, employees, or much money. Today, the company is a national leader in the barter industry, employing 12 people who serve more than 2,000 clients in the Southeast. Here’s a look at key accomplishments that occurred during this Silver Anniversary year.

Technology Facilities Easy Trades:

Although the company started handling trades over the phone and by paper, it soon embraced technology and launched an app for clients. The Barter Company’s mobile app has gone through several upgrades, including one this year that makes trades quickly and easily. The website also got a refresh this year. It explains the basics – and benefits – of barter and highlights the vast variety of goods and services available to clients.

Exceeding Client Expectations: 25-Year Clients:

From the beginning, Zampatti and his eventual team focused on exceeding clients’ needs and satisfaction. That focus is a key reason for the company’s – and its clients’ success. In fact, two clients have been with The Barter Company since the early days, including O’Brien Productions and Regency Fine Art and Frame.

Nine Barter Millionaires and the First $2M Barter Millionaire:

In September, The Barter Company celebrated its ninth barter millionaire and its first client to hit $2M in barter! Barter millionaires know how to barter to get want they want for business and personal needs. To reach the million-dollar level, a barter client must exchange goods and/or services worth at least $1 million within the network of The Barter Company.

Holiday Barter Show Boosts Clients’ Reach:

In November, The Barter Company hosted the annual Holiday Trade Show to help clients market their company to a wide audience. A fun and beloved event, this year’s show featured art, jewelry, entertainment, personal care, gifts, a silent auction, and much more. Clients found gifts for customers and employees there and took advantage of the opportunity to reward their team members by letting them spend their company barter dollars at the show.
